Narrative:
Thinking about narrative being established by a media text by a media text is a fudamental way of identifying what the text is about and why the text has been constructed in this way.
All media texts tell a story in some way. for instance, a film poster is set up as an enigma for you to resolve by watching the film. A newspaper has a narrative through the events being told and moving image usually has a narrative audience.
Deconstructing the narrative:
When thinking about narrative in any form of media text, the questions you might want to ask include
- is this a whole narrative, a section or an enigma
- What function does the section have
- who/what are the main narrative agents for the text, and how do we know
- Does it conform…
