Mitosis 

uses of this type of cell division

• growth and repair 
• asexual reproduction 
• producing genetically identical cells

Meioisis

uses of this type of cell division 

• variation 
• to produce gametes
• for sexual reproduction 

Mitosis is done by all cells other than gametes and it has four stages ( in this order)

Prophase

the DNA coils up to form chromosomes it becomes prominent and becomes visable the nuclear membrane disintegrates and the nucleolus vanishes spindle fibres start to form and the centrioles go to the poles of the cell

Metaphase 

the centrioles are at the poles and the spindle fibres have been formed and…
