- Warbeck began in Cork in 1491, claiming to be Richard of York, the younger prince in the tower and rightful heir to the throne – difficult for Henry as he couldn’t show the real Richard around London, presumably because he was dead.
- Had support from Margaret of Burgundy and Emperor Maximillian, the emperor of the Holy Roman Empire. Warbeck went to Ireland but had no support after Henry had got stricter with Ireland. Warbeck also went to France, who received him. However, Henry negotiated the Treaty of Etaples, which forced him out and he fled to Margaret’s court in Burgundy.
