7.3 PESSYP

What is PESSYP?

Strategy launched by government in january 2008, was intended to be transition from the PESSCL. Investment of £755 million over three years to deliver this and it will involve up to five additional government departments and organisations. Main differences is that PESSYP is aimed at 5 to 19 age range whereas PESSCL aimed at 5 to 16 years old. 

Know as ‘Five Hour Offer’, two hours of PE available to all pupils in normal curriculum time and three hours extra-curricular.
