Flea allergic dermatitis
FAD is an allergic reaction to flea saliva injected by bites of fleas.
This parasite hypersensitivy can cause severe pruritus leading to alopecia and excorations with secondary skin infections.
Where FAD is confirmed the goals are to avoid flea bites, treat the pruritus and prevent secondary skin infections.
