Definition: 

a method of making multiple copies of a DNA sequence, involving repeated reactions with a polymerase.

• DNA to be copied
• Heat-stable DNA polymerase (Taq)
• Primers (short DNA sequences complementary to those at one end of 2 DNA fragment)
