Probability trees are used to calculate the probabilities of successive (one after another) events.
Example
Eve has 3 red socks and 2 blue socks. She picks a sock at random, notes the colour, then puts it back in the drawer. She then picks another sock at random.
If you are going along the branches you multiply probabilities.
