Proportionalism wishes to work within the Natural Law tradition, but rejects the static, unchanging and absolute interpretation held by the Roman Catholic Church. It sits between the two opposite approaches of Natural Law (deontological, instrinsic goods, magesterium) and Situation Ethics (consequential, instrumental, agape).
