Content analysis:
Used to research the media and how it represents different groups and issues. It involves devising categories and counting up the number of times different topics are featured. It can be used to compare messages given out by different types of media.
Advantages
P: cheap method to carry out meaning it can be carried out again by researchers aiming to replicate the initial method. This means that the reliability of the research is high.
E: no participants are required, therefore meaning that ethical considerations and guidelines set out by the BSA are easy to follow. This can again increase the reliability as this…
