Stalin's cult of personality:

Stalin heavily used what was called the cult of personality, the deification of an individual for propoganda purposes. Stalin was particularly good at this, having his face appear everywhere as a propoganda tool to show the progress the Soviets were making in terms of government and against Capitalism. Stalin did this to:

• Reinforce belief that Socialism was superior, particularly through claiming that Russian's had beat Columbus to America and that E=MC2 was created by Russian's before Einstein
• To create a personality cult around Stalin that would help him realise the position of Vozhd
• To bond Stalin and the State together, making criticism illegal and anti-soviet
