The Development, Nature and Theory of the UK constitution
- Not entrenched, can be changed, house of lords reform under blair
- however means gov can do what it likes, under blairs anti terrorism laws were illegal
- gov is limited by parliament, 1million people protesting the Iraq war in 2003
- House of Lords still not fully reformed, it is hard to push through proper reform
- Means that the government is soveriegn, can be effective. For example the human rights act of 1998 was passed
- However governement is not fully sovereign, for example may being defeated on the brexit vote in 2017
- Codification means that peoples rights would be better defined, government torturing terrorists in the 2000s
