• Eu is a customs Union, states can trade with each other witout tariffs
• Single market, completely free movement 
• Economic Union, responsible for economics, the Euro is the currency 
• Political Union, negotiates foreign policy and politics 
• The European Comission, basically civil service of the EU
• The council of ministers, they create the laws of the EU
• The Council of the EU, where the heads of government of the states meet and discuss things 
• European parliament MEPs elected from member states, usually from different political parties, has a veto and can block or ammend legislation if it wants
