The Nervous System
STIMULUS – a change in environment
RECEPTOR – detects the change in environment
SENSORY NEURONE – relays message to the CNS
CNS (Central Nervous System) – coordinates a response and consists of the brain and spinal cord
(RELAY NEURONE – only used in reflexes. In the CNS, the sensory neurone relays the impulse to the relay neurone which then passes it on to the motor neurone)
MOTOR NEURONE – relays the response to the effector
EFFECTOR – brings about a response to stimuli…
