THE UNIFICATION TREATY AND ABOLITION OF THE GDR
- Signed by both the GDR and the FRG on 31 August 1990
- When both sides of Germany were reuinted the whole would be referred to as the FRG
- This treaty 'regained' German control, as the Allied powers agreed to give up control, and all rights to place troops in Berlin
- No foreign forces or nuclear weapons would be placed in Germany, for their use or anyone else's
