Polish revolution - 1863:
- ever since the 1815 Vienna Settlement, Poland had been divided between Russia, Prussia and Austria
- the majority of the 1848 revolutions were blamed on the Poles causing further anger
- because of this accusation, Bismarck labelled Poles as being troublemakers
