- Treating abnormality across the world depends on social norms. These are affected by cultural relativism e.g. schizophrenia is 1 in 100 people but has cultural variations. For example, Puerto Rico - evil spirits. If we do not take cultural differences into account, it is classed as ethnocentrism.
