?
Argument for a codified constitution, in relation to aligning with modern democracies?
Modern democratic countries such as USA and France have codified, arguably having everything in one document means it is more accessible, increasing democracy.

Having a codified constitution would make a two tier legal system, this clarifies legal process, making it easier to understand. Clearly in need after 2019 BJ prorouging parliament

Argument for codified constitution, in relation to House of Lords/Courts?
Although putting power in Courts places political power in judges, UK already does this with House of Lords (Parliament Act 1949)

Argument against codified constitution, in relation to keeping up with political and social change?
Uncodified=Unentrenched so easy to amend, can develop with change, after 2001 9/11, Uk was able to bring in new anti terroist legislation much more easily than USA due to uncodifed constution.

Argument against codified constitution, in relation to judges/courts?
Having codified constitution means placing power in unelected judges, infringes on democracy. Only one female in Supreme Court, undiverse, doesn't represent UK as a whole.
5 of 6
Argument against codified constitution, in relation to it's unnecessarity?
Most countries with constitutions have brought this in after crisis, e.g France had revolution in 1789 and constitution was brought in 1791. Never happened in UK so is unnecessary, would take too much time.
