What is meant by 'over the counter divorce' and who suggested it?

This is put through if laws were changed to make divorce easier and according to Ann Widdecombe it would undermine the idea of marriage

There is a great deal of inter marriage between White, African Caribbeans and Chinese

these families increase because of divorce
it is easier to get a divorce and the nuclear family is no longer the ideal family

Eversley and Bonnerjea suggested geographical changes, and inner cities see large numbers of single parent families

They struggle to get work because of taking their children to school and getting them again
this means they cant be in full time work
not a lot of jobs pay high enough and are between school hours

Are cohabiting couples as stable as married couples?

married couples are more likely to stay together however cohabiting couples after 10 years were 61% more likely to stay together and 2/3 had then married

This provided financial help to those unable to meet the costs of divorce this helped women who did not have an income
