what is the process of D taking place?

in a wstrn society, there are strong norms against agg and therefore identity based on compliance w social norms. in normal circumstances, social norms help prevent behaviour that is agg, this is seen when ppl in public spaces carry out self-assessments-

-but when an individual in a crowd, they become anonymous, lose their identity and inhibitions of self-assessment. this makes ppl not see the consequences of agg and so social norms are forgotten
