Freeze-thaw weathering
Freeze thaw weathering is where water finds it way into a crack, it then begins to freeze and over time thaw, This repeatedly happens and expands the crack and can combine with various other processes to increase the rate of erosion.
5 of 6
Chemical weathering
This is where acid rain and other factors can affect the integrity of the rock, This can then increase the rate of erosion as the rock becomes weaker and is more susceptible to processes such as hydraulic action.
