describe the different stages of a drainage basin

source-start, mouth-end, watershed-edge of the drainage basin, confluence-the point at which two rivers meet, tributary-when a smaller river meets a larger rive, drainage basin-the land where the rain water will flow into the river

what is a river meander?

a meander is a bend or turn in the river.

what are the four steps of a ox bow lake?

step 1-the meander on the river grows, step 2-the neck of the meander becomes narrower, step 3-the river will take a short cut, by cutting across the neck, step 4-soon the loop is sealed off all together

floodplains and levees are formed by deposition on the sides of the river when the river floods,

rain cannot soak through concrete, rapid deforestation, dams may burst
