A clef placing G above middle C on the second lowest line of the stave. 3 of 11 What is the bass clef? A clef placing F below middle C on the second highest line of the stave. 4 of 11 What is 'simple duple'? The term 'simple duple' refers to the time signature 2/4. Whenever 'simple' is used it indicates the beats in a bar can be broken into twos. 5 of 11 What is 'triple'? 'Triple' is a meter which divides notes into threes per bar. Examples include 3/4, 3/2 and 3/8. 6 of 11 What is quadruple meter? Quadruple meter makes the notes in a bar divide into groups of four, the most common example being 4/4. 7 of 11 What is compound duple meter?
