Odysseus is on Ogygia with Calypso. Athene convinces Zeus to allow her to go to Ithaca and speak to Telemachus. Telemachus calls an assembly to kick out suitors, but they rebuke.

The gods debate Odysseus’ fate. Hermes delivers message to Calypso and she rebukes with famed speech. Gives Odysseus materials needed and he leaves. Poseidon punishes Odysseus in storm, Ino rescues, he swims to Scheria and sleeps in forest.

Athene appears in Nausicaa’s dream and makes her go to river. Nausicaa and maids are playing and encounter Odysseus. He begs for help, she gives it to him, and Athene makes him look hot. Nausicaa gives Odysseus instructions on what to do at palace.

Book 7: The Palace of Alcinous
Athene protects Odysseus with mist. Big description. Begs to Arete, promises ship. Interrogate him, he doesn't tell who he is. Alcinous tries to give Nausicaa.

Book 8: The Phaeacian Games
Assembly of Phaeacian counsellors. Feast and games, in which Odysseus cries and shows up the men, with discus throw, helped by Athene. Also has a tiff with Broadsea who is young and arrogant. Cries at story of Trojan horse, Alcinous asks who he is.
