Ozymandias
power of nature vs power of humans. Arrogant king who is boastful and too proud. Statue get worn away by nature over time. Only ruins remain.

Strong negative semantic field as narrator walks around london.Highlights the misery of everyone there. People in power are responsible for damage, they don't help the people in need.

Extract from 'The Prelude'
Young boy finds a boat tied to a tree, he steals it and takes it on the lake. He feels confident and powerful. Power shifts to nature when he sees the mountain. He becomes scared of natures power.

Duke shows visitor a painting of his dead wife, the duchess. He expresses his anger at the duchesses behaviour. Hinted that he killed her. He controls who sees the painting.

Crimean war, british cavalry fought against russian forces. There was a miscommunication and the light brigade were ordered t advance. They were almost defenseless. Many died an they shall be honoured.

soldiers in WW1, lay awake in trenches afraid of being attacked. Nature is more of an enemy as they slowly freeze. Thinks about how sacrifice keeps their families safe. thoughts of death return.

Storm on the island
Community 'prepared' for storm. As the storm continues they aren't as prepared as they thought. The strom is more powerful. The people fear its power.
