What is the Veterinary Surgeons Act?
The Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 manages the veterinary profession, registration, regulation and professional conduct such as dealing with complaints, cancelling or suspending registration.

What is the RCVS COPC?
The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Code of Professional Conduct sets out professional responsibilities to animals, clients, the profession, the veterinary team, the RCVS and the public.

What is CPD?
Continual Professional Development is required to keep your place on the register, it proves that your keeping up with developments in knowledge and the profession. The yearly requirement is 15 hours per year.

What is RIDDOR?
Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013. Legislation relating to reporting fatal, major accidents, gas explosions or incidents. As well as accidents that result in more than 3 days off work.

Part of the Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 that explains what treatment can be carried out by SVNs, RVNs and unqualified persons.

Notify the department of environment, food and rural affairs who will investigate.

What covers clients personal data and how is it protected?
General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018. These state clients have access to their personal data, to know how it used and stored. Data is protected through secure logins, backups, permission to use data or send it elsewhere.

Ear cropping, declawing and debarking. Ethical problems may also be things like neglect and euthanasia of a healthy animal.
