Parliamentary statutes
Laws (Acts) passed by Parliament such as the Human Rights Act bringing in the ECHR to British law.

Unwritten rules that are binding on the political community, eg the Salisbury Convention ensures that HoL does not obstruct proposals in the governments manifesto

Common law
Historic law which the courts enforce but have not been passed by Parliament, eg the Royal prerogative where by the powers of the monach are delegated to the Prime Minister.

Tradtions
Historic parctices that govern many of the rituals of Parliament, such as the Queens Speech, in which the Queen introduces the governments annual legilative programme.

EU teaties
Treaties signed by the UK government and are binding on future governments, eg Maastricy Yreaty (1992), which transfered some UK soverignty to the EU.
