Nature (nativism)
The influence of innate/ inherited features on development. - Based on assumption that children are genetically pre-programmed. - They inheritskills, abilities and behaviours from their parents.

The influence of the environment and nurturing. Based on assumption that characteristics are acquired and can be shaped through experiences.
